Taking human growth hormone supplements will prevent or slow the aging process.

Consumers are seeing all sorts of ads for dietary supplements claiming to contain human growth hormone (HGH) or ingredients that will increase its release. They claim that boosting HGH blood levels can reduce body fat, build muscle, improve sex life, restore hair growth and color, etc. But these products are nothing more than a lot of hype.

Human growth hormone is a substance released by the pituitary gland that spurs growth in children and adolescents. Some short-term growth hormone-replacement trials have suggested than when injected, HGH causes fat loss and an increase in muscle mass and bone density. But there's concern about adverse effects with long-term use such as increased risk for cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.

And it hasn't been proven that increasing levels in young people or people without a growth hormone deficiency is beneficial.
