milk thistle (silymarin) works for diabetes

Patients are asking if milk thistle (silymarin) works for diabetes.

Milk thistle is commonly used for liver problems. But more patients are buying it to control blood glucose.

New evidence suggests that 200 mg TID of milk thistle seed extract reduces blood glucose by about 20 mg/dL after four months of therapy. It might also drop cholesterol and triglycerides.
