Expect to See Some "Controller" Inhalers Used PRN for Mild Asthma

Some adults will get Symbicort (budesonide/formoterol) or Zenhale (mometasone/formoterol) AS NEEDED for mild asthma.

We usually see patients with mild asthma get salbutamol PRN as a symptom "reliever"...and a daily inhaled steroid (budesonide, etc) as a "controller" if symptoms occur nearly every day.

Now guidelines suggest PRN use of combos with an inhaled steroid plus the long-acting bronchodilator formoterol...INSTEAD of salbutamol.
