Minimize Risk When Using Quick Codes
You're on the front lines to prevent errors with "quick codes."
Many pharmacy computer systems are set up with these codes to make order entry more efficient. For example, typing the code "1QD" is faster than typing "Take one tablet by mouth once daily"...and typing "METF500" is faster than typing "metformin 500 mg."
These quick codes may save time...but they can also be risky.
