Canadian guidelines for treating gonorrhea and chlamydia have just been revised...because of increasing resistance to some of the older antibiotic regimens.

For example, experts NO longer recommend treating gonorrhea with penicillin...ampicillin...amoxicillin...or tetracycline.

Instead use a single IM dose of ceftriaxone (Rocephin 125 mg). Or a single ORAL dose of cefixime (Suprax 400 mg)...ciprofloxacin (Cipro 500 mg)...or ofloxacin (Floxin 400 mg).
