New rules will help clarify Medicare Part D billing for Zostavax (zoster vaccine).

Zostavax shots are used in patients aged 60 and over to reduce the risk of shingles or some types of pain associated with shingles. Some pharmacies offer Zostavax shots to patients in the pharmacy.

Zostavax is covered under Medicare Part D drug plans...not Part B like flu and pneumococcal vaccines.
