You'll hear about two new platelet inhibitors...Aggrastat(tirofiban) and Integrilin (eptifibatide). They were just approvedby the FDA...and are also being considered by HPB.
These new drugs are being called "super aspirins"...becausethey're more potent than ASA. In fact, they were developed fromproteins in snake venom that cause bleeding.
Aggrastat or Integrilin are for treating unstableangina...certain types of heart attacks...and for some patientsundergoing angioplasty.
