There's a lot of confusion right now over the safety of using misoprostol during labour and delivery.
Misoprostol (Cytotec) is commonly used for cervical ripening and to induce labour. It's more effective than dinoprostone (Prepidil, Cervidil, Prostin E2)...and costs less.
The problem is that the manufacturer and the American College of OB/GYNs (ACOG) are putting out different recommendations.
