There are new concerns about bisphosphonates causing eye problems...conjunctivitis, blurred vision, eye pain, and inflammation.
This was first noticed with pamidronate (Aredia). But it can also occur with alendronate (Fosamax) and the others.
It's thought that bisphosphonates can increase the release of cytokines that can lead to ocular inflammation.
