There's a new antibiotic for traveller's diarrhea called Xifaxan (zuh-FAX-in, rifaximin).
It's a derivative of rifampin. It's for treating traveller's diarrhea caused by noninvasive E. coli...the most common cause.
Xifaxan is NOT absorbed systemically. This means fewer side effects...drug interactions...or resistance.
