HIGHER doses of trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) for certain skin infections

Some experts are now recommending HIGHER doses of trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) for certain skin infections...specifically infections that are likely methicillin-resistant Staph aureus (MRSA).

Community-acquired MRSA skin infections are usually treated with TMP/SMX, minocycline, doxycycline, or clindamycin.
