new SSRI antidepressant called Cipralex
There is a new SSRI antidepressant called Cipralex in Canada.
It is marketed under the brand name Lexapro in the U.S.
Cipralex (escitalopram) is just the S-isomer of Celexa (citalopram). Celexa contains both the S-isomer and the R-isomer. The S-isomer is responsible for the antidepressant effects...and the R-isomer might contribute to some of the side effects.
