Researchers are using large doses of chickenpox vaccine to prevent shingles.
A new vaccine called Zostavax is already available in the U.S.
It contains varicella zoster...the same virus as the chickenpox vaccine (Varivax III). But Zostavax contains about 14 times more live attenuated virus than Varivax III.
