Techs are often surprised by how frequently med errors and mix-ups occur with diuretics...hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, etc.

Diuretics earned their nickname of "water pills" by being used often to remove fluid in heart failure, lower blood pressure, etc.

But there are so many drugs and combos that mix-ups, duplicate therapy, and undetected allergies are common.
