New warnings about an increased risk of muscle injury with simvastatin (Zocor, etc) are putting the spotlight on these Rxs.
"Statins" work well to lower cholesterol...but they're also known for their ability to cause muscle injury.
The risk for muscle injury with simvastatin 80 mg is much higher than with lower doses...and possibly higher than with other statins.
