All those potassium iodide tabs people bought for radiation exposure carry an allergy warning...making this a good time to point out that a true iodine allergy is a medical myth.

Many people are labeled as having an iodine allergy if they have a reaction to iodine-containing foods or drugs...seafood, Betadine, etc.

These people are then sometimes denied x-ray dyes or other products that contain iodine. But this isn't usually necessary.
