Aloxi is a "5-HT3 antagonist" that will be used to prevent nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy. It works by blocking specific serotonin receptors...that can trigger nausea and vomiting.
Think of Aloxi as similar to ondansetron (Zofran, etc), dolasetron (Anzemet), or granisetron (Kytril, etc).
