Don't Automatically Substitute Remsima or Inflectra for Remicade
You'll soon see two new infliximab meds, Remsima (REM-see-muh) and Inflectra (in-FLEC-truh).
They will be used as alternatives to Remicade...but they're NOT considered generics. Instead, they're called "biosimilars"...or "subsequent entry biologics" (SEBs).
That's because infliximab and other biologics are made from cells of living organisms and cannot be exactly duplicated.
