Viibryd Is the Latest Rx Med for Depression
Viibryd (VYE-brid, vilazodone) will be the latest antidepressant to hit pharmacy shelves.
Think of Viibryd as similar to Trintellix (vortioxetine). Both work similarly to increase serotonin levels in patients with depression.
Expect doses on Viibryd Rxs to "start low and go up slow" to help minimize stomach-related side effects. For instance, a patient may get 10 mg by mouth once daily for 7 days...followed by 20 mg daily for 7 days...then increased to the max dose of 40 mg daily, if needed.
