Know Differences Between Emerade and Other Epinephrine Injectors
A new auto-injector, Emerade (epinephrine), will compete with EpiPen and Allerject for treating severe allergic reactions.
It comes in the usual 0.3 mg strength for patients over 30 kg...and a new higher 0.5 mg dose, which is an option for those over 60 kg.
Continue to document the patient's weight when you get an Rx for an epinephrine auto-injector. Explain that you're asking so the pharmacist can check that the dose is appropriate.
