Stay Alert for Patients Stopping Dopamine Agonists
Health Canada is warning about the risk of withdrawal symptoms when stopping dopamine agonists (pramipexole, ropinirole, etc).
These meds are often used for Parkinson's disease, restless legs syndrome, or other conditions.
But some patients who stop or reduce the dose of these meds experience "dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome" (DAWS).
