Ozanex Is a New Topical Antibiotic for Impetigo

You'll see Ozanex (AH-zen-eks, ozenoxacin), a new Rx cream for impetigo.

Impetigo is the most common bacterial skin infection in kids ages 2 to 5. Kids usually get sores on the face, arms, and legs.

Ozanex will be the first topical "quinolone" antibiotic for impetigo...but don't expect it to be a fast mover. There's no proof it works better than other impetigo meds, such as mupirocin (Bactroban).
