Some companies are now testing portable prothrombin (PT) analyzers (Coumatrack, etc).

When these get approved, patients will use a drop of blood from a fingerstick...much like diabetics perform blood sugar testing. Patients will get instructions on how to adjust their warfarin dose based on the test results.
