You'll hear about a new drug for benign prostatic hypertrophy, Flomax (tamsulosin)...from Boehringer Ingelheim.

Flomax is an alpha-blocker...but it's more selective than terazosin (Hytrin) and doxazosin (Cardura).

Flomax works as well as the other alpha blockers for enlarged prostates (BPH)...but it has very little effect on blood pressure.
