Roche is marketing a new drug for metastatic breast cancercalled Xeloda (zah-LOE-duh, capecitabine).
It'll be out first in the U.S...later in Canada.
Xeloda is a prodrug of 5-FU (5-fluorouracil). It'smetabolized to 5-FU by enzymes in tumour cells.
