We're getting questions about the different interferons for MS.

There are three beta-interferons...Betaseron, Avonex, and Rebif. They reduce relapses and delay disability with the relapsing forms of MS.

Betaseron was first. It contains the protein interferon beta-1b. It's given SC every other day and causes a high incidence of injection site reactions, including skin necrosis.
