Health Canada has approved a new rabies vaccine, RabAvert.

RabAvert will solve the current shortage problem of the other approved rabies vaccine, Imovax. The global shortage of Imovax will last until early 2006...due to a contamination problem.

RabAvert is given IM in the same dosing schedule as Imovax.
