Zelnorm (tegaserod) is now approved for chronic idiopathic constipation in Canada.
About 2% to 27% of people complain of chronic constipation. Zelnorm is the first prescription drug approved for it.
Zelnorm was initially approved for irritable bowel syndrome in women who primarily have constipation.
