Canadians will now be able to get a new ORAL rotavirus vaccine for infants, called RotaTeq. Health Canada just approved it.

Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe diarrhea and vomiting in young children. It's also very contagious, and can be resistant to soaps and disinfectants.

RotaTeq prevents about 74% of all rotavirus infections...and 98% of the severe cases that lead to hospitalization or death.
