Voltaren Gel and Flector Patch will be the first TOPICAL Rx NSAIDs to be commercially available for pain...early in 2008.
Both Voltaren Gel and Flector Patch contain diclofenac...the anti-inflammatory pain medicine found in oral Voltaren tablets.
Some pharmacies compound other topical NSAIDs...usually ketoprofen, piroxicam, or ibuprofen. These are used as alternatives to oral NSAIDs for local pain relief.
