You'll see more drug interaction alerts with Pradaxa (dabigatran).
New labeling warns about the risk of combining Pradaxa with the heart med, Multaq (dronedarone)...or the antifungal med, ketoconazole.
Taking one of these combos can raise Pradaxa levels in the body...making the blood too thin and putting the patient at risk for bleeding. This combo becomes riskier if the patient has bad kidneys...since Pradaxa levels can go even higher in these patients.
