Entyvio (en-TIH-vee-oh, vedolizumab) is a new injectable "biologic" for treating ulcerative colitis in adults.

Entyvio reduces inflammation and prevents disease "flare-ups"...similar to other biologics (Remicade, etc).

The big difference is that Entyvio targets inflammation in the colon and reduces the possibility of whole-body or "systemic" side effects (immune system suppression, etc).
