Help Folks Separate Head Lice Facts From Fiction

New guidelines will help dispel myths about treating head lice.

MYTH: Nits indicate an active infestation. Seeing a LIVE LOUSE is the "gold standard" for diagnosing an active infestation. Having just NITS could lead to overtreatment since they may not be viable.

MYTH: Topical insecticides don't work due to resistance. Permethrin 1% (Nix, etc) or pyrethrins (R&C, etc) are still first-line treatments...despite reports of resistant lice.
