Some patients will use LOW doses of Eliquis (apixaban) or Xarelto (rivaroxaban) long-term to prevent clots in their veins.

Most patients take Eliquis 5 mg twice daily or Xarelto 20 mg daily for 3 months after they have a clot in their leg or lung.
