A handful of recent errors will put focus on mix-ups between lamotrigine (Lamictal) and labetalol (Trandate).

In three of these cases, pregnant women were accidentally given the seizure med lamotrigine instead of the blood pressure med labetalol.

The reverse situation has also occurred...patients prescribed lamotrigine received labetalol instead.
