Health Canada is warning about a risk of inflammation of the pancreas in patients taking methimazole (Tapazole) for hyperthyroidism.

Only a handful of cases of "acute pancreatitis" have been reported in patients taking methimazole.

And researchers aren't clear how methimazole might be linked to pancreatitis. But it seems to occur within 3 months of starting methimazole...and can occur at different doses.
