Know Which COVID-19 Rxs May Be Too Soon for Prime Time
We're getting questions about using inhaled steroids, colchicine, or fluvoxamine to treat outpatients with COVID-19.
Inhaled steroids (budesonide, etc) and oral colchicine are getting buzz for their anti-inflammatory effects...and the antidepressant fluvoxamine (Luvox) may help regulate the immune response.
But for now, DON'T expect your pharmacist to recommend any of these meds to treat COVID-19. There's not much evidence...and some studies aren't "peer-reviewed" by experts or published yet.
