Watch for Jorveza, a New Med for Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Jorveza (budesonide) orodispersible tabs will be the first treatment approved for eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
This is a chronic allergic condition in kids and adults that causes inflammation along the esophagus. It can result in symptoms such as trouble swallowing, chest pain, and vomiting.
Patients with EoE often get an inhaled steroid (Flovent HFA, etc) with directions to SWALLOW each puff, instead of inhale...or to mix contents of a steroid nebule into a slurry and swallow.
