Patients will ask how to treat oral thrush ...now that most provinces allow pharmacists to prescribe meds for minor ailments.

This oral yeast infection causes raised white plaques on the tongue and inside the mouth. It’s most common in newborns, older adults, and patients with risk factors (steroid inhaler use, dentures, smokers, etc).

Anticipate most patients with thrush will get nystatin oral suspension...the usual dose is 500,000 units (5 mL) qid for 1 week.
