wear gloves while handling bottles of hydroxyurea capsules (Hydrea)
Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada is warning patients and healthcare providers to wear gloves while handling bottles of hydroxyurea capsules (Hydrea).
This stems from reports of ulcerations and gangrene in patients taking hydroxyurea for cancer.
Explain to patients and co-workers that this is just a precaution...similar to precautions with other antineoplastics. There's no proof that SKIN exposure causes these ulcers.
