Rhone-Poulenc Rorer is now marketing IV Synercid in the States...it's still investigational in Canada.

Synercid is the new antibiotic of "last resort"...for vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREF).

It's actually a combination of quinupristin and dalfopristin...the first antibiotics in the streptogramin class.
