Miacalcin Nasal Spray (calcitonin)

Sandoz is now marketing Miacalcin Nasal Spray (calcitonin). Until now, calcitonin has only been available for injection.

Miacalcin is approved for treating postmenopausal osteoporosis. It's second-line therapy...for women who can't or don't want to take estrogens.

Calcitonin hormone helps regulate calcium levels. It improves bone density by inhibiting bone resorption. It also has an analgesic effect that helps relieve pain from fractures.
