There are now reports of a possibly serious interaction between the RA drug Arava (leflunomide) and warfarin.
It appears that Arava can INCREASE warfarin's effects...probably by inhibiting warfarin metabolism in the liver.
The INR can increase significantly within just a few days...probably because patients start Arava with a large loading dose.
