Amgen is now issuing stronger warnings about combining Enbrel (etanercept) and Kineret (anakinra).
Both Enbrel and Kineret are biologic agents for treating moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis.
They both inhibit inflammation...but in a different way. Kineret selectively blocks interleukin-1...Enbrel blocks tumor necrosis factor.
