Cleviprex (CLEV-a-prex) will be used to control blood pressure in hospitalized patients.
It's given as an IV infusion and will be used as an alternative to IV nicardipine (Cardene), esmolol (Brevibloc), etc.
Cleviprex (clevidipine) is ultra short-acting...it will be an option when tight control and a quick response are important.
