Rescriptor and Viramune belong to a new class...called non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs).

These drugs inhibit the same enzyme as zidovudine...but they work in a different way.

NNRTIs will be used in combination with protease inhibitors...or nucleoside analogs such as zidovudine.
