You'll see patients getting Pariet (rabeprazole), a new proton pump inhibitor...from Janssen-Ortho.

It's available in the U.S. under the brand-name Aciphex.

Pariet is a "me too" drug...similar to omeprazole (Losec), lansoprazole (Prevacid), and pantoprazole (Pantoloc). But it's priced about a third lower than the others.
