Patients will ask you if grapefruit interacts with their meds.

Health Canada is warning consumers to avoid grapefruit and its juice when taking meds for anxiety...depression...hypertension...cancer...infections...and many more. But the warning doesn't name specific drugs.

Grapefruit inhibits CYP3A4 in the gut and increases the absorption of many drugs...lovastatin, simvastatin, triazolam, diazepam, some calcium blockers, protease inhibitors, etc.
