New guidelines for managing diabetes have just been released by the Canadian Diabetes Association.

They promote more aggressive screening for earlier detection and treatment...and tighter control to reduce complications.

All people over age 45 should be screened for diabetes every 3 years. More frequent or earlier testing is suggested for patients with risk factors for diabetes.
