You can now add carbamazepine (Tegretol) to the list of drugs that can interact with grapefruit juice.

Grapefruit juice interacts with many drugs...lovastatin...most calcium channel blockers...oral midazolam...triazolam...and cyclosporine.

Grapefruit increases the absorption of these drugs by inhibiting cytochrome 3A4 enzymes in the GI tract.
